Hi, and welcome to this week’s Fiction Friday!
This week, we’re looking at ‘The Magician’ by Michael Scott, which is the sequel to last week’s book, ‘The Alchemyst’.
I really enjoyed this book. The author has done impeccable research, and that much is again made apparent with every chapter and every page. These books teach their reader about mythology, and the way in which it relates to our world, and modern society, without losing any of the thrill and excitement that pure fantasy can bring.
I would say that these books are perhaps better for slightly older readers. Not that they can’t be enjoyed by younger children, but just because older readers will be better able to understand and fully appreciate all of the mythology incorporated into the storyline.
Over all, definitely worth a read, particularly if you have an interest in history, or myths and legends, you will likely really enjoy this book and all it has to offer.
If you’ve read it, are going to read it, or maybe even if this post has made you think you might, do be sure to let me know your thoughts!
