Healthy Apple Pancakes ~ Foodie Friday ~

Hi everyone! It’s Foodie Friday again!

Healthy Apple Pancakes-

INGREDIENTS:
wholemeal self raising flour 1cup
milk 1/2cup
egg 1
Applesauce 1 1/2 tbsp
Apple thinly sliced 1

  1. Combine flour, milk, egg, and applesauce in a bowl.
  2. Slice your apple, this recipe is nicer when the slices are only thin, as they cook better.
  3. Dip your apple slices into the pancake mixture, making sure they are well coated.
  4. Cook the coated apple in a pan over medium heat, and then flip to cook on the other side.
  5. Your pancakes should be cooked when they start to look browned, enjoy them!

FireTruck ~ Wicked Wednesday~

Hi! And Welcome to Wicked Wednesday!

When I was around 3 years old, I attended a birthday party.

As often happens at the birthday party of a child so young, the party mum went around the group, asking each of us what we wanted to be when we grew up.

Typically, most of the little girls answered things like ‘mermaids’ or ‘fairies’, or ‘princesses’. I was not like most of the other little girls.

I didn’t want to be a mermaid, or a fairy, or a princess, or even a mermaid fairy princess. I wanted to be a firetruck.

Not a firefighter, that mightn’t have been so outrageous. I wanted to be the actual motor vehicle itself. I believe the party mum was a little bewildered, and rightly so.

I also recall wanting to be an ambulance at one point around the same time.

Dreams were shattered when I did not grow up and become a transformer.

You Are Beautiful ~ Motivation Monday ~

It’s Motivation Monday again!

Admire someone else’s beauty without questioning your own.

We are all beautiful. Not just in the way that we look, but how we think, how we act, and who we are. We all have beauty inside of us.

It’s a wonderful thing to think someone else is beautiful, in whatever way that might be, but too often we let it undermine our own beauty.

Don’t. You are beautiful. You are no less beautiful because of someone else’s beauty. You can admire all of the wonderful things about someone else, and still know that you too are just as wonderful.

Don’t undermine yourself, don’t question your own beauty, don’t think that anyone else’s worth dictates your own.

This week, know your own beauty, and believe it, and don’t let anything make you think that it is not within you.

Yoghurt Fruit Bark ~ Foodie Friday ~

Welcome to another Foodie Friday!

Yoghurt Fruit Bark-

INGREDIENTS:
Fresh fruit 1/2 cup
Vanilla Yoghurt 1 cup

1. Smooth yoghurt onto either a lined baking tray, or, as I used, a plastic plate that you don’t mind breaking. I used vanilla yoghurt, but you could try it with whatever kind of yoghurt you like.

2. Press your fruits gently into the yoghurt. Try to space them out a little, for this step you can use whichever kinds of fruits you prefer, and could even try dried fruits, but I used fresh blueberries, strawberries, and raspberries.

3.Cover the plate or tray you are using with glad wrap, so that it’s not compromised by other smells and tastes.

4.Place your plate or tray into the freezer. I recommend freezing overnight.

5.Remove your plate or tray from the freezer, and snap the now frozen yogurt into pieces, the pieces can be as big or small as you want them to be.

6.Enjoy your healthy fruit bark!

Hopefully you enjoyed this recipe, and maybe it served as a healthy alternative at Easter, or some other time!

Carlizzle ~ Wicked Wednesday~

Hello! This is Wicked Wednesday!

I read Twilight when I was quite young. I loved Bella, and thoughr Edward was just wonderful (I later went on to convert to Team Jacob, but that’s beside the point.)

As some of you may know, in the Twilight series, Edward has found himself a sort of vampire family. The father figure of this family is a good man (or vampire, to be technical), with slicked back blonde hair and a name I thought was incredibly fancy.

Carlisle. I hadn’t heard this name before, and read it for the first time in these books. I didn’t read it as I should have. In my world, Edward was being looked after by a very nice man called Carlizzle.

It was ingrained in me, I never worked out that the name was off, somebody actually had to sit me down and tell me so. If I’m honest, it lost something for me once I found out, and if ever I read the name now, I still find my mind pronouncing it as I used to.

So, if your name is Carlisle, think of Carlizzle as a term of endearment, because it is all I will be calling you.

Be Gentle ~ Motivation Monday

Happy Motivation Monday!

Be gentle with yourself, you’re doing the best you can!

It’s so easy to beat ourselves up, to never feel good enough, to view ourselves negatively. Be gentler.

Treat yourself like you would treat a friend in the same circumstances. You would not yell at your friend, or try to tear them down, so don’t do it to yourself!

There comes a time when it’s necessary to be your own best friend. It’s not easy, and it won’t come overnight, but it’s worth trying. If you love you, why shouldn’t everybody else love you too?

This week, make an effort to be nicer to yourself. Treat yourself gently, and make sure to look after you! If you can, do something special for yourself!

Healthy Smoothie ~ Foodie Friday~

Hello and welcome to the first Foodie Friday!

Healthy Berry and Yoghurt Smoothie-

INGREDIENTS:
Mixed berries 1/2 cup
Yoghurt 2 Tblsp
Milk 1/2 cup
Banana 1/2

  1. Put all of your ingredients into a blender. You can use whatever types of berries you would prefer, and frozen or unfrozen depending on what’s available to you. I used frozen blueberries and strawberries.
  2. (optional) I use my morning smoothie as a means of quickly and easily taking all the vitamins I need to take for the day. If this is something you’d like to try, check with your doctor or pharmacist that they are all okay to be taken together, and blended. Then just crush them up, and add them in with the rest of your ingredients. I find this a great way of taking everything I need without them tasting bad, or taking too long.
  3. Blend well. Be aware that, depending which ingredients you included, your smoothie might be a different colour or consistency than mine,
  4.  Drink up and enjoy!

Tooth Trouble ~ Wicked Wednesday~

Hello, and welcome to the very first WICKED WEDNESDAY!

I once had a tooth knocked out by a football. The story is no different from what it sounds like it will be. There I was, just 7 years old, in the middle of a school oval, with a football soaring towards my face, one which I failed to catch before it made contact.

I’ve been hit with many a flying object in my time, so didn’t think much of it. One of the other little girls pointed out a puddle of blood which had dripped onto my knee, but I shrugged off her concerns like they were nothing. Clearly they were not nothing, and she raised her hand to tell the teacher that I was bleeding, by which point the blood was coming quite thick and fast. It all seemed like bit much of a fuss to me.

Washing my mouth out did very little, and my mouth was filling with blood so quickly that I couldn’t speak for spitting it all out. My mother was called and I went home.

One little tooth, hanging far above the rest by no more than a thread; it bled for a good two hours. In this time I got quite hungry, but my tooth was certainly not up to any meal, so I was made an egg flip to drink.

Egg flips are very creamy, and I found this out the hard way. My tooth was too loose to be brushed, and I didn’t want to encourage it to bleed again, I would have to away the cream with a tissue.

The football was not the only thing that flew that day. Straight out of my mouth, my tooth at last made it’s dramatic exit, landing right on the next tissue in the tissue box.

Quite the day, and quite the story to tell, I do hope that tooth fairy paid me well for my troubles.

Kindness ~ Motivation Monday ~

Hello! And Welcome to my blog! Here we will share love and kindness, jokes and laughs, and a little bit of lifestyle! This is the very first MOTIVATIONAL MONDAY!

Always be a little kinder than is necessary. How many of us actually live by these words? No one does, not all the time. All of us have had our feelings hurt by other people at one point or another, and all of us are probably guilty of have having hurt somebody else’s feelings. Let’s try to stop.

Let’s make kindness more important to us, and let’s make that extra effort to push it out into the world whenever we can. Tiny gestures are sometimes all it takes to make someone’s day.

Next time you’re in a shop, and you see someone wearing something you like, tell them! People love to be complimented! And next time somebody is not so kind to you, take a moment to offer them some kindness in return. Hopefully, when enough joy and love has been showered upon them, they will see the error of their ways and start to reflect kindness back out into the world.

This week, bear it in mind to try and be a little kinder than is necessary.
